About this property

  • Savills is delighted to bring to the market Cruise Loch Ness, the first time since its inception in 1968. The business has a proven track record and continues to be one of the leading tourist attractions in Scotland. It is popular with day-trippers, stay-cationers and overseas visitors with a large proportion of trade derived from organised UK coach tour holidays and Scottish-based day tour operators. In 2018, Cruise Loch Ness was awarded Best Visitor attraction at the Highland and Islands Tourism Awards, winner of Best Family Business (small/medium) at The Herald Scottish Family Business Awards and winner of Outstanding Performing small business at the Highland Business Awards.

Local information

  • Cruise Loch Ness is located to the south of Loch Ness where the loch interconnects with the Caledonian Canal in the village of Fort Augustus. It is situated midway between Inverness to the north and Fort William to the south in the Scottish Highlands and accessed via the A82, the main arterial road linking Glasgow to Inverness.

Additional information

  • The owner's accommodation, 'Knockburnie’, is an impressive two storey detached house providing spacious family accommodation ideal for an owner/manager or alternatively would make high quality letting accommodation. Internally the accommodation has been thoughtfully laid out as shown on the floor plans and photographs. On the ground floor the main entrance leads through a central hallway into the kitchen opening out to the dining area and family room with log burning stove and high vaulted ceiling. Bi-folding doors open out onto the terrace with a glass balustrade providing a large outside entertaining space with superb views. A side vestibule provides a second entranceway into the property directly into the kitchen. From the hallway, a spacious lounge with oak parquet flooring, log burning stove with granite surround and panoramic windows and skylights create a pleasant bright space with far-reaching views over the loch with double doors leading to a large veranda deck with outdoor seating. Further access via the central hallway is provided to the ‘playroom’, office, utility room and cloakroom. To the first floor a central staircase leads to the five bedrooms, three of which enjoy the stunning views across the loch. There are four further bedrooms, one with ensuite and one currently used as a dressing room and also a family bathroom.
