Well established and profitable clay target shooting ground with significant development potential.
The site has operated as a clay shooting ground for many years, under different ownerships, but was acquired by the current owners in May 2010. Additional land was purchased in 2011 and since then the owners have expanded the operation and made major improvements to the facilities. Today the business operates as a successful and profitable CPSA Premier clay target shooting ground, and in 2015 Cambridge Gun Club was voted best shooting ground in the UK in the CPSA Awards.
The property is accessed off the B1049 Twenty Pence Road via Long Drove, a partly adopted highway which leads into a large car park. The site is landscaped with extensive earth bunds, woodland plantations, stocked fishing ponds and pathways.
Accommodation currently comprises clay target shooting stands, a clubhouse, covered rifle range, covered galley range, gun shop, storage buildings (some of which will be replaced by new buildings for which planning permission has been obtained), a temporary marquee, an office and WCs (both of which are currently located in portable buildings), a new build manager’s house and a mobile home which will be removed from site when the new manager’s house is completed.
In May 2017 planning permission was obtained for the erection of a new (25,527 sq ft / 2,371.62 sq m GIA) clubhouse (to replace the existing covered agricultural storage building and battery storage building), an indoor 25m rifle range (to replace the existing storage buildings), a rifle shooting tunnel and a maintenance barn. Planning permission was also granted for a new manager's house which is currently under construction and will be completed to a painted plaster wall finish for a purchaser to install their own kitchen, bathrooms and flooring, and a fishing lake which has been constructed and is nearing completion.
Cambridge Gun Club is an award winning business with significant potential to develop the site with a new clubhouse and rifle ranges.Kay Griffiths
