    About this property

    • Dating from 1864, this handsome mid Victorian property served as a vicarage until 1975 when it sold by the Diocese into private ownership and has since only had three owners. The present owners have undertaken a rolling programme of decoration which has continued throughout their tenure, resulting in the well presented building being offered for sale today.

Arranged over three floors, the accommodation is ideally suited to family life with three formal reception rooms, all perfectly proportioned and bathed in copious amount of natural light, a kitchen/breakfast room and study which can be utilised for home working. The bespoke crafted kitchen has a range of base units with granite worktops, a dresser unit and an Aga with separate gas hob and electric ovens. An open doorway leads to the larger than average utility room and rear porch with associated stores and on the opposite side of the kitchen a butlers pantry and larder.

At first floor level the accommodation includes five large bedrooms positioned on all four corners of the property all with beautiful views across the gardens and roof tops beyond, served by two full bathrooms. On the second floor there are a further two double bedrooms which have been used recently as a teenagers apartment.

In addition to the useful cellars, there are a range of outbuildings, the former Carriage House, which incorporate a a workshop and adjoining stables which now serve as garden equipment stores. The courtyard between the house and carriage house provides ample space for parking, with a car port at the far end.

The gardens flank the house to the south and west, bordered by high brick walls and mature hedging which provide a great deal of privacy. Laid predominantly to lawn, surrounded by mature trees, with a large stone flagged patio extending from the southern side of the house providing the perfect venue for al-fresco dining.

The area of garden to the south of the property entrance has planning permission for a bungalow and double garage, this is available by separate negotiation.
