    About this property

    • Forest House is a handsome Grade II listed village house dating back from mid 18th Century. The property comes to the open market for the first time in 48 years and offers well-proportioned accommodation arranged over two floors, with salient points including sash windows, feature fireplaces and ornate ceiling rose and cornicing. Of particular note are the attractive gardens to the front and rear of the property.

There is a spacious sitting room, providing an excellent reception area with an exposed brick fireplace, there is dual aspect with French doors to the rear leading to the walled patio with a covered well. The dining room has an outlook to the front garden with an original fireplace, ornate ceiling rose and cornicing as well as recessed shelving. An extension was created in 1978 comprising a kitchen and creating a further bedroom and bathroom to the first floor.

The kitchen, which is fitted with a range of base units and a separate breakfast area with access to the garden. Beyond the kitchen the previous outbuildings have been linked to the house and a utility room with units has been created along with a large workshop, store and a garden room with French doors leading on to a decked area. Arranged on the ground floor is a w.c. which completes the accommodation.

Stairs rise to the first floor and principal bedroom with a built-in cupboard, ideal for storage and view to the front. There is an additional three bedrooms, a shower room and separate modern bathroom.

The house is approached via a wrought-iron gate with a charming stone path leading to the front door, either side is an established mature hedging and plants. To the right handside of the house is a gravelled driveway leading to the large garage.

To the rear is a delightful, walled west facing garden with deep borders to the perimeter with a variety of established flowers and plants.
