About this property

  • Discover the unique charm of Colenso House, a captivating property with a rich history as a former Methodist chapel. Expertly extended in the late 1980s, this remarkable home boasts an impressive array of features that seamlessly blend period elegance with modern comforts.

The current owners have undergone a programme of works to the property as well as the gardens during their ownership; including further insulation to the house, two new boilers, new log burners, new windows throughout as well as replacing the majority of the roof and the addition of solar panels.

The ground floor is a particular highlight, with its exposed timber beams adding warmth and character to the space. The pièce de résistance is the conservatory, boasting a beautiful granite floor that overlooks the picturesque water garden. The perfect spot to relax and unwind.

The first floor offers five spacious bedrooms, accessible via two staircases, providing ample room for family and friends. The beautifully designed and maintained garden is a true showstopper, expertly tended borders, and a serene water garden. There is an idyllic summerhouse, complete with a charming terrace perfect for al fresco dining and entertaining.

There are two entry points on to the driveway to the property, via double wrought iron gates and leads to the garaging with workshop and ample parking.

Colenso House is a truly unique and inspiring residence, offering a perfect blend of history, character, and modern living.
