    Local information

    • Situation
    • The property is situated close to Lechlade, a small market town where the rivers Coln and Leach join the Thames. For centuries the town was one of the main trading arteries west of London, by both road and river. Leisure boats have now replaced the trading vessels and the town is a popular mooring place. The nearest other towns are Burford (the gateway to the Cotswolds) and Cirencester, often referred to as the capital of the Cotswolds.
    • Communications links are very good by both road and rail, with the town being well placed for access to the M4 (J15) and the M40 (J8) plus railway stations at Swindon, Charlbury and Didcot, which provide regular services to London Paddington.
    • In addition to the immediate leisure facilities, the area provides numerous sporting opportunities. These include golf at Cirencester and Burford, water-skiing, gliding and polo at Cirencester Park. Excellent pubs abound and include The Five Alls in Filkins and The Swan in Southrop. There is an opera festival at Longborough and theatres in Cheltenham and Oxford.
    • Lakes by Yoo
    • Set in 850 acres of freshwater lakes, woodlands and meadows, the Lakes By Yoo is a secure estate in the heart of the Cotswolds. Nature and sculpture trails, waterside barbecues, lakeside walkways and viewing platforms are all part of the estate. Sailing, canoeing and swimming can be enjoyed from the property. With a full concierge service, the estate is also popular for those looking for a retreat where everything can be catered for.
    • Located in the heart of the estate is The Orchard Spa. Designed by award-winning architects, the spa has a glorious 17-metre heated pool with panoramic views across Clear Water Lake. In addition there is a sauna room, steam room and gym with Matrix equipment and kinesis wall.
    • The estate also provides other activities for all the family including a Kids Club and special events throughout the year. However, the essence of the environment is one of calm and tranquility where the hurly burly of modern life can be forgotten
