About this property

  • Barn Owl House is a light and airy family house which has been considerably improved by the present owners. The house is beautifully presented throughout, includes a high standard of appointment as well as light oak solid doors and ceramic tiling on the ground floor. The house is complemented by a wonderful garden and a self contained cottage which is capable of providing a useful secondary income. From the garden there is direct access to a footpath which provides lovely walks over the surrounding countryside.

The front door opens into a bright entrance hall off which is the cloakroom and study. Double doors lead into the dining room off which is the sitting room. This a very relaxing room with woodburning stove, ceiling beam and doors leading out on to the garden. The kitchen is comprehensively fitted and includes a gas fired Aga and an island/breakfast unit. Adjacent is a the utility room whilst off the rear lobby is a very good sized boot room which was the original kitchen. Also on the ground floor is a guest bedroom with built in cupboard and its own shower room. On the first floor there are three bedrooms all having built in wardrobes and enjoying the views down the garden. The main bedroom has an en suite bathroom with separate shower and like the main family bathroom on the first floor, is of high quality.

Wrought iron gates from the village lane open into a gravelled parking area with the drive continuing to the double garage and a further parking area. The annexe is to the rear and like the house is of a very high standard. Downstairs there is a large reception room with kitchen area whist upstairs there are two bedrooms and a bathroom. The property has proved a very popular holiday let but is capable of fulfilling a number of other uses.

The garden is attractively laid out and is a particular feature of the property. The formal area is close to the house, both front and rear and in addition to the flower and shrub borders there are also paved sun terraces. The larger expanse of lawn extends to the farmland and is studded with maturing trees including an apple tree. There is also a timber garden shed and greenhouse. In all the property extends to about 0.7 acres.

View payable Stamp Duty for this property

I believe that this superb annexe would be perfect for home working or holiday letting.
