The National Trust own and manage the property and gardens. A separated part of the property is used as a tearoom for members of the public visiting the gardens when they are open in coming seasons.

    The towns of Bradford-on-Avon, Melksham and Trowbridge are a short drive away as well as the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the City of Bath. Holt is within easy reach of open countryside and other National Trust properties such as Great Chalfield Manor, Dyrham Park, Lacock and Tyntesfield.

    The property is in need of decoration works, and the National Trust would be happy to agree a scope of works with a future tenant, subject to discussion and written agreement, and planning/listed building constraints.

    We do need to note that the property, whilst substantial, can only accommodate one small car in the rear courtyard, and also that there is no reserved garden space allocated to a future tenant, its grounds are wholly open to the public. The National Trust will permit entry to the gardens by the tenants when they are open or closed, subject to strict conditions broadly in line with those expected of the public when they view them. We understand there to be available two unallocated parking spaces additionally available in the village hall car park, located a short walk from the property. The National Trust regrets it is unable to accept pets at the property.

    Internally the property provides up to nine bedrooms including attic rooms, and generous living accommodation downstairs comprising kitchen with ancillary rooms, dining hall, and drawing room. Access to the upper floors is split with two staircases providing access to the separate parts of the property.
    To the first floor, the property offers four bedrooms, a studio, study and bathroom and shower rooms. Depending on the configuration the tenant wishes, it would be possible to use the study or studio as bedrooms.

    To the second floor, the property offers a balcony bedroom (with access to the balconies to be prohibited); further bedroom, bathroom, dressing room and a further two attic rooms one of which is not suitable for accommodation but rather for storage.

    To the rear of the property, the allocated parking space is located between the house entrance and the ancillary staff entrance to the tearooms. General courtyard access is shared with the gardeners and the occupants of a cottage opposite the property.
