About this property

  • The Mill House dates from 1799 and was converted in 2006 to form a family home well suited to modern day living. It retains much of its original character and has the water wheel still in situ. Internally the property is well insulated and is fully double glazed. The principal entrance to the house opens into a reception hall with a flagstone floor and spiral staircase leading up past a study/bedroom 5 to the first floor.

The ground floor accommodation is spacious and nicely laid out with an open plan dining room and kitchen adjacent to the large sitting room. The kitchen is fully fitted with Shaker style units and a four oven cream AGA. There is a utility room where the boiler is located and a cloakroom with WC. The sitting room, like the dining room, has French doors opening onto the decked terrace to the south side of the house. A sun room provides a useful additional reception room and has a door to the rear courtyard.

On the first floor there are four bedrooms in all. The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom with separate shower and bath and the second bedroom has an en suite shower room. The two other bedrooms share a family bathroom. There is superb cupboard space throughout making good use of the eaves.

Outside there is a double garage with a floored loft above. There is a garden shed and kennel located just behind the garage. There is also a large timber workshop and store. A polytunnel is located next to the garden in the south paddock.

The garden is expansive with a large lawn, orchard and variety of semi-mature shrubs and plants. The two paddocks, which offer about 3.5 acres grazing, are easily accessed and there is a wildlife pond off the old mill lade.
