  • Harperrig House has an outlook to Harperrig Reservoir on the northern edge of the Pentland Hills Regional Park. It is a spectacular setting with the heather covered hills providing a wonderful backdrop and great amenity.
  • Nearby there is a good range of local facilities in Kirknewton, Balerno and Currie, while more extensive shopping can be found in Livingston to the north-west and Hermiston Gait on the edge of Edinburgh to the east. Primary education is available at Kirknewton and secondary education in nearby Balerno. There are also a number of independent schools in and around Edinburgh, the nearest being Clifton Hall School. The campus of Heriot Watt University is only 9 miles away. Leisure facilities in the area, aside from the Dalmahoy Hotel and Country Club and the Edinburgh International Climbing Arena, include various golf courses and the endless options offered by the Pentland Hills.

  • Directions: From Edinburgh take the Lanark Road A70 west. About 4.5 miles beyond Balerno there is a green sign to Drover's Cottage and a second sign to Harperrig Reservoir. Follow this single track road to the reservoir and over the bridge. Harperrig House is a short distance further along on the left hand side.
