18th century upper townhouse in cobbled street opposite St Salvator’s Chapel
10 College Street is an “upper townhouse” which dates from the 18th century. It has had many modifications over time including a recent refurbishment when the property was upgraded with works including a new kitchen, modern shower room and redecoration.
The property has its own front door at first floor level which is reached from a curving, covered outside stairs.
The stairs open into a hall with a cupboard containing the hot water tank. Off this is a sitting room with tripartite windows looking over the street below, a window seat and wooden wall panelling. Off the sitting room is bedroom 1 which has a built-in wardrobe.
The kitchen has just been replaced with new floor and wall cupboards, and fully integrated appliances including an oven, hob, fridge and Neff dishwasher and washing machine.
Narrow stairs lead up to the second floor where there is a bedroom with Dormer window, shower room with WC and washbasin. On this floor there is also a study with wooden wall panelling and Velux window, a room that has also been used previously as a 3rd bedroom for guests.
