About this property

  • Approached via a long gravelled drive, Moor House has classic Georgian elevations with sash windows, a slate roof and colonnade entrance.

The impressive front door opens to an elegant reception hall with a beautiful open fire place, splendid wide staircase and high ceilings which continue throughout the whole house. The main reception rooms are orientated to the south and west and as a result, the immaculately presented rooms are flooded with light. With the exception of the family room and study, all rooms have direct access to the gardens and grounds.

The kitchen/breakfast room is contemporary and classic with an electric controlled AGA and double island design, one used as a breakfast bar, the other for food preparation including a gas hob. There is an immensely practical utility, boot room and cloakroom on the north side of the house where there is also access out to the drive. The grand ceiling height continues upstairs where there are six bedroom suites, including the impressive master bedroom with en suite bathroom with a cloud shower and clever walk in wardrobes.

The gardens are level and mainly lawned, planted with specimen trees, shrubs (mainly mature azaleas and rhododendrons) there is an area of woodland, small pond and a walled tennis and badminton court close to the pool and changing rooms.

‘Moor House is a wonderful example of Georgian architecture where the living and bedroom proportions throughout are exemplary and the symmetry and large windows showcase what is expected of a property built in that era. The feeling of privacy in the countryside is one of my favourite things about this property, whilst having Farnham such a short distance away and Frensham Lakes equally close by. The addition of a two bedroom cottage is useful for income generation, or perhaps a multi-generational family buyer.'
