About this property

  • Ashfield House is an exceptional extended Georgian villa with magnificent open aspects beyond surrounding properties to Loch Long and the Arrochar Alps.

The current owners have lovingly restored the property and their careful eye and design flair are apparent everywhere. The accommodation is superbly proportioned and high levels of natural light and a great sense of space are key characteristics of this property. Ashfield House is currently used as a private residence but has also been utilised by our clients as a boutique B&B. The grounds surrounding Ashfield House are also a credit to the sellers with expanses of lawn and a wide variety of mature trees and shrubs and gazebo providing additional privacy. Across the road there is an additional area of land which fronts Loch Long providing loch shore access and lapsed planning permission for a one and a half story dwelling.

The accommodation on the ground floor begins with an entrance vestibule leading to a welcoming reception hallway. Off here is a beautiful drawing room with an open fireplace with carved wood mantel and magnificent open aspects framed by full height windows. The bright home office/study looks over the garden and there is a well-proportioned sitting room with wood flooring. The same floor flows into the modern fitted kitchen which has an array of cabinets and a dresser style unit along with a range cooker and porcelain Belfast sink. The accommodation on this level is completed by a formal dining room, cloakroom/WC, plentiful under stairs storage including plumbing, and an additional maid's staircase leading to the upper floor.

The accommodation on the upper floor comprises five double bedrooms (three with en suite shower rooms), additional cloakroom/WC, the family bathroom, and a large landing.

To the rear of the property there is a former coach house which is currently converted on the ground floor to stores with a loft on the first floor level currently a gym. This property has potential for future development subject to the necessary consents and architect's drawings are available. There is a L-shaped double garage adjacent to the house.
