Outstanding period mill with modern extension.
Albion Mill is a wonderful and unique Grade II listed property. Believed to date back to 1824 and formerly one of the tallest post mills in the county, the building has been expertly reconfigured and extended to create an interesting and light filled house.
The ground floor of the original mill is occupied by the fabulous kitchen/dining room with wide elm floorboards. Stairs lead to a galleried reception room, with a vaulted ceiling and exposed timbers. Windows to the north, south, east and west, and two Velux windows flood the mill with natural light.
A central hall, with floor to ceiling windows and sliding doors, provides access to the two well-proportioned double bedrooms and the two bath/shower rooms.
To the rear of the building, accessed via glazed sliding doors in the hall, is a private south-facing courtyard garden. To the front is an area of parking, with a lawn to the side.
Albion Mill is incredibly charming: I love it. The original mill dates to the 19th century, retaining many original features and is perfectly complemented by the stylish modern extension.Alexander McNab
