A characterful hillside cottage with privacy and a spectacular view
Tullichuil is situated about half a mile up a moderately steep hillside. From its vantage point, the view from Tullichuil takes in Schiehallion, Ben Lawers and Farragon, as well as many other local hills. With the exception of farm and forestry workers, the property enjoys almost total peace and privacy. Wildlife is largely undisturbed and the bird watching from Tullichuil is exceptional.
Tullichuil was once part of the Bolfracks Estate and is believed to date from the 1880s. It is a pretty traditional building which has been extended (2009) and refurbished in recent years. Although modernised, it retains lots of original features and character.
The main entrance is via the back door which opens to a hall with space to hang coats and access to a WC, utility room and boiler room. Straight ahead is the dining kitchen with cabinets by Murray & Murray, a red two oven AGA and space for a dining table. It is impossible not to be drawn towards the large kitchen window which has a thrilling view. The sitting room is a similar size to the kitchen and has an open fire. There is an additional room on the ground floor which works well as an extra bedroom or an office depending on a buyer's requirements.
On the first floor there are three double bedrooms, a bathroom and a shower room. The two bedrooms at the front of the house enjoy the glorious view, while the third bedroom being part of the extension has a light, lofty and contemporary feel.
Outside
Tullichuil is set in just over an acre of garden which is mainly grass with some lovely birch woodland behind. A short private driveway leads to parking behind the house.
