  • Directions: From Rothbury follow the B6341 drive straight through Thropton and approximately 2 miles beyond you need to bear right (at Flotterton Farm) up the bank (on the right there are steeple chase fences in the field). Follow this road, which leads to Harbottle and Alwinton, for about 2 miles and you will come down the steep hill in to Sharperton which is the settlement before the bridge over the river. Eastfield is the first bungalow on the right and has a white name plate on the gate saying 'Eastfields - Holmes'.
