About this property

  • Rhosson Uchaf is an historic coastal property that has been sympathetically renovated and restored by the current owners bringing it back to its former glory. The house is Grade II* Listed and the British Listed Buildings website describes it as
“The most important survivor of the eight round-chimneyed houses recorded in 1902, of which only Hendre Eynon survives from the others.”

The property is brimming with character features like slate flagstone floors, exposed wooden beams, floors, roof timbers, alcoves etc blended with modern touches to produce eye-catching and comfortable accommodation. It has also been used as a successful holiday let by the owners for those looking for an investment as well as a coastal retreat.

    Accommodation Ground Floor
Passing the imposing chimney through the main entrance leads into the reception hall with slate flagstone floor and doors leading off to the main reception rooms. On the right is the dining room with slate flagstone floor, exposed beams and the warm focal point of a wood burning stove. Adjacent is the light kitchen with slate flagstone floor, fitted units, Belfast sink and doors leading to outside. On the left of the reception hall is the living room with slate flagstone floor, exposed beams and a wood burner set in an inglenook. A door leads off to the bright and generous size sunroom at the rear of the property overlooking the garden. Another door leads from the living room to a cosy snug room that again features a slate flagstone floor, exposed beams and its own wood burner. Steps lead up off this room to the separate bedroom on the first floor. Adjacent to the snug room is the current sauna room that has a sauna cubicle and separate shower room. This room could be used as further accommodation instead.

    First Floor
The main staircase rises up from the reception hall to the main first floor accommodation. On this side of the first floor are three generous size bedrooms with wooden floors and character features, two with ensuite bath/shower rooms. There is also a separate bathroom. The separate part of the first floor is accessed from stairs rising up from the snug room. This leads to a stunning bedroom with exposed A frames and wooden floors. A door leads off to external steps to the garden.

    Externally
The property enjoys generous gated landscaped grounds and gardens with ample parking area, lawned areas, pretty stone walls, charming old pig sty and a single storey range of mainly stone outbuildings. These are currently used for storage/workshop purposes but have the potential for other uses subject to any necessary planning consents.

One of the most impressive restoration projects that I have seen.
