  • Fox Oak is a signature country house, commissioned by Arthur Ricardo in 1886 and designed by his noted architect brother Halsey Ricardo, a later billiards room wing with bedrooms above added in 1892. The name from legend states that King Henry VIII was fox hunting and whilst pursuing his quarry, the wily fox climbed the tree in the gardens and so impressed with his guile he called the hounds off, hence the name Fox Oak.
