    Land

    The farmland lies in two separate blocks land to the north of the Old South Eau Drain and land to the south of the drain. The total arable area extends to 255.9 acres (103.56 hecatres). All the land can be accessed from public roads with the northern block of land accessed from the B1166 while the southern blocks are accessed from French Drove. The fields are of a good size and regular shape for modern farming practices.
    The land is classified as grade 1 and 2 under the MAFF Provisional Agricultural Land Classification with the grade 1 land being located on the northern parcel of land closest to Gedney Hill. The soils are from the Wallasea 2 and Wisbech soil series, the Wisbech soil series are described as deep stoneless calcareous coarse silty soils. The Wallasea 2 soils are described as deep stoneless clayey soils, calcareous in places. Both soil types are suitable for winter cereals and in places sugar beet, potatoes and field vegetables.

    The land is bounded by dykes and hedgerows. There is a small dilapidated shed constructed from a timber frame, corrugated profile roofing and timber cladding.
