Offered to the market for the first time in over 60 years, Tregiffian Cottage was purchased in the late 1960's by the novelist, John le Carre and his wife as their family home.
le Carre was best known for his espionage novels, many of which were written at Tregiffian, and subsequently adapted for film or television. "A sophisticated, morally ambiguous writer", he is considered one of the greatest novelists of the post-war era.
