According to the Soil Survey of England and Wales, the land lies over Andover 1 soils, known to be good, shallow, well drained and silty soils over chalk. The soils are classified as Grade 3 agricultural land.
  • Moreover, there are various areas of woodland and stewardship strips for wildlife and conservation purposes, that have been successfully implemented. A restricted byway and multiple other farm roads, provide convenient routes to the fields throughout the year.
  • The Shoot: The shoot has always been “family run”, with a degree of involvement by students from Sparsholt College. Varying in size from 30 bird days to 300 bird days, the farm is capable of hosting circa 10 days in a typical season, between September and January. Recently the shoot has been run as a 170 bird day for 6 guns.
  • Woodland at Littleton Farm: The majority of the woodland at Littleton Farm was planted 30 years ago by the current owner of the farm.
