    • 7 The Doocot comprises the south east corner of a courtyard development of seven homes at Feddinch. Feddinch is a small hamlet of around 20 houses built in the grounds of an old mansion in the hills above St Andrews. It is about 2.5 miles from the Westport in the centre of St Andrews with the hospital and Morrisons supermarket being on the near side of the town.
    • St Andrews is renowned worldwide as the Home of Golf. There are now seven golf courses under the management of the St Andrews Links Trust, including the world famous Old Course which played host to the 150th Open Championship in 2022. There are many other golf courses nearby including The Duke's Course, two courses at Fairmont St Andrews, Kingsbarns and Dumbarnie. A new course has been planned at Feddinch but has not yet been completed.
    • St Andrews is well known for its university which is one of the oldest in Britain, founded in 1413. The historic town has an excellent range of independent stores, hotels, restaurants and cultural facilities which include a cinema and the Byre Theatre.
    • Leuchars railway station (8 miles) is on the main Aberdeen to London line and provides a link to Edinburgh and a sleeper service to London. Dundee Airport offers flights to London Heathrow, and Edinburgh Airport is only 50 miles away.
