About this property

  • About this property
History Completed in 1901, Slaugham Manor was designed in the Jacobean Revival style by Arts & Crafts architect Walter Ernest Tower. Originally built as a private home, it was later converted to a hotel and then spent some 40 years as a training and conference centre for Sussex Police. In 2020, the building was converted into nine individually designed apartments and eight modern houses were built in the grounds.

    Number 10
Number 10 is an attractive contemporary detached home, nestled to the south of the manor house, with a private driveway and garden to the rear and overlooking terraced communal lawns to the front. It is very well presented throughout, with points of note including anthracite grey crittal-style windows, neutral décor, stylish modern white bathroom suites, and a combination of wood-effect luxury vinyl, carpeted and tiled floors.

The front door opens to a spacious entrance hall, off which lies a cloakroom with WC and a deep utility cupboard with space and plumbing for laundry appliances. The ground floor is largely open plan, ideal for modern living, with a generous sitting and dining area adjoining the well-appointed kitchen. The versatile living area features an elegant limestone fireplace set with a woodburner and two sets of French doors opening to the garden; the kitchen is fitted with a range of dark grey matt handleless units with quartz worktops and a range of integrated appliances by Bosch and Neue.

There are three well-proportioned bedrooms on the first floor, together with a family bathroom. Two of the bedrooms have fitted wardrobes with oak doors, and the larger of the three bedrooms has an en suite shower room.

The second floor comprises a superb principal or guest bedroom suite, with a central dressing area, vaulted bedroom, and an impressive bathroom with feature ‘porthole' window and a suite including a freestanding bath, twin basins and a separate shower.

    Outside
Slaugham Manor is situated at the end of a long private tree-lined driveway, and is surrounded by manicured communal grounds and bordered by mature woodland, fields and a number of small lakes. Number 10 has a private block-paved driveway to the rear of the house, together with a lawned private garden and a patio next to the house. There access around one side of the house to the front of the house, where there is a further, smaller patio with space for a bistro table and chairs, overlooking the communal gardens.

There are shared visitor parking bays to the south of the properties.
