    About this property

    • Situated in the Corbières mountains, just 40 km from the Mediterranean seaside resorts, this majestic estate of 350 contiguous hectares is one of the most beautiful in the Occitanie region, offering a remarkable holiday destination in a location sheltered from all disturbance.

The estate can proudly boast over a thousand years of history, with its name appearing in records dating back to 859.
Most of the land is comprised of garrigue and woodland, together with a 1.7 hectare lake, 3.4 hectares of vines and around 25 hectares of former vineyard land that could be planted with vines or olive trees in the future. The château stands in a dominant position, protected by two imposing rocky outcrops to the east and its vast outbuildings to the north.

Set in parkland shaded by a row of hundred year old lime trees, the château overlooks the four terraces that slope gently down to the château outbuildings.

Entirely walled, the park surrounds the château, the terraces and a vast swimming pool.

The château, the bastide and the two converted sheepfolds combined comprise a total of 30 bedrooms, with the possibility of creating a further 10 for a potential of more than 40 bedrooms.

Built in the 19th century, the château has elegant proportions, with a classically turn of the century north facing facade.
The interiors of the château and outbuildings are in a good condition, having been regularly maintained by the estate's
      current owners.

Behind the chateau, the outbuildings include two converted sheepfolds (with 5 bedrooms) providing an additional living
      area of around 200 m².

On the ground floor, the chateau features a series of reception rooms and a dining room.

A large entrance hall leads to a grand staircase framed by three magnificent carved stone vaults. On the first floor, the landing leads to nine large bedrooms and seven bathrooms.

On the second floor, two bedrooms and a bathroom have recently been renovated. The second floor features high ceilings and could easily accommodate up to ten additional
bedrooms. The château itself therefore offers a
potential of at least 20 bedrooms.

The nave of the chapel stands at the far end of the château.

The estate is one of the few in the region to boast a private lake. The lake has a small pontoon and covers an area of around 1.7 hectares, varying according to the time of year.

A superb bastide of 750m² with outbuildings is situated around 300 m from the château. The bastide comprises 13 bedrooms,
renovated in recent years, with 9 bathrooms. On the ground floor, two large lounges adjoin a dining room and a large kitchen. The bastide has a private swimming pool (12m x
5m) overlooking one of the olive groves.

The outbuildings of the bastide include an old stable, a vast winery and large farm sheds that could be renovated to develop wine growing, wine making activities, creating a
hotel business or for hosting special events. Most of the accommodation has already been renovated for use as holiday rentals.

The estate covers 350 hectares, including around 3.4 hectares of AOP Corbières vines, planted with Syrah and Grenache. The vines are farmed directly by the estate and the harvest is taken to the local cooperative winery.

At present, almost one hectare is planted with olive trees, providing a small production of olive oil for family and friends.
