Rare and spacious Grade II listed Georgian house in Uphill Lincoln, enjoying stunning cathedral views and gardens and grounds of about 0.4 acre.
Occupying a fabulous position just steps from Lincoln Cathedral in the historic Bailgate area of Uphill Lincoln, 18 Eastgate is a most impressive Grade II-listed double-fronted Georgian property built in 1700. The house is notable for its slate roofs, handsome elevations in a mix of brick and stone, Venetian windows, original style fireplaces, stone floors and attractive cornices and moulding details. The character details are complemented by a modern décor scheme; the house was extensively renovated over the past four years to include external stonework restoration, rewiring and replumbing, new bathrooms and GMO-brand kitchen, plus restored character features.
The house is immaculately presented throughout and enhanced with an array of desirable modern features, from a Quooker tap and premium appliances in the kitchen to a fully restored working wine cellar. The Grand Portico entrance sets the scene for the striking interiors, with an elegant entrance hall leading to the kitchen/breakfast room and study at the front of the house. To the rear there are two generously sized reception rooms, plus a utility room, cloakroom with WC and stairs both to the basement-level cellars and the first floor. Upstairs there are four extremely well-proportioned bedrooms on the first floor, with two bedrooms having en suite while the remaining rooms share a family bathroom, and a further three bedrooms and a storage room with plumbing in place to convert to a bathroom on the second floor.
The house is situated on Eastgate with beautiful views over Lincoln Cathedral and St Peter in Eastgate church, which forms a border to the rear garden. There is gated vehicular and pedestrian access via Northgate to the rear garden and parking area, which has space for a good number of cars. The garden is mostly lawn with well established trees around the boundary providing a high degree of privacy to the various seating areas.

This is one of my favourite uphill Lincoln houses with the most wonderful grand proportions, I especially like the huge garden that you just do not expect to find at such an address and the cellar is amazing
