- William Lodge is located in the ancient town of Malmesbury, reputed to be England's oldest borough, and set adjacent to Medieval Malmesbury Abbey. The town offers an excellent range of everyday facilities, which include a Waitrose and Aldi supermarket, as well as a number of pubs and restaurants. You can enjoy the beautiful views with walks along the River Avon which winds around the town. A free walking guide can be found at the Tourist Information Centre in the Town Hall. Malmesbury hosts many annual musical, cultural and food events including the weekly farmer's market. Other local centres include Tetbury, Cirencester and Chippenham whilst more specialist shops and cultural activities can be found in Bath and Bristol.
