The newly installed kitchen incorporates a Rangemaster cooker set into a characterful exposed stone wall, with stone flooring and timber ceiling beams overhead. Local information

  • The East Neuk of Fife runs from St Andrews to Largo Bay, and is famous for its sandy unspoilt beaches and fishing villages with picturesque harbours. St Monans is the smallest of these, and retains a busy harbour used by creel and sailing boats. The village was traditionally built around the fishing, boat building and salt industries. 14 West Shore sits in a commanding position overlooking the working harbour, with the Firth of Forth acting as a scenic backdrop.
  • There are good local services in St Monans including The Giddy Gannet café, two grocery shops, a post office, several fresh fish outlets and a primary school. Waid Academy secondary school is 3 miles away in Anstruther, where there is also a Co-op supermarket and a large range of independent shops. Ardross Farm Shop, which won the ‘Farm to Fork' award in 2018 is about a mile away. The Bowhouse at the top of the village regularly holds market weekends for local producers, and is used as a concert venue during the arts festival. Bowhouse is also home to the popular Fit to the Core fitness studios. Water sports enthusiasts are well catered for with centres close by in Elie and Cellardyke. There is a strong artist and craft worker community in all the villages. Pittenweem is host to one of Scotland's most famous summer art festivals. In addition, St Monans stages its own arts festival in September.
