    About this property

    • This truly unique and bespoke country home was built in the Gothic revival style to the owners exacting requirements some 30 years ago and has been refreshed on a regular basis since then. It offers substantial and practical family living space predominantly over two levels with a self-contained cottage in the grounds. Offering the individual character of houses much older yet retaining modern practical facilities, this wonderful family home is set in glorious gardens and meadow extending to around 11 acres.

Wheatfields offers stylish and homely living space and has been cleverly designed by the current owners to give practical family living yet also some fabulous entertainment space when the situation arises.

Designed by the award winning Professor David Stevens, the beautifully mature and professionally planned grounds are a notable feature of this home with a variety of specimen trees and shrubs planted to accentuate the country setting in which Wheatfields sits. Meandering paths and trimmed hedging lead through to the tennis court and swimming pool areas which feature a pavillion and changing room respectively. Set in grounds of several acres the majority of the gardens have been laid to meadow and parkland for ease of maintenance. There is a computerised irrigation system.

Internally, the principal reception rooms include a drawing room and dining room for entertaining together with a kitchen/breakfast room and family ‘snug' for everyday living. To the East side of the house access is given to a fifth bedroom with its own bathroom - which can be accessed from the rear quarter of the property if required independently.

On the first floor there are three spacious bedroom suites enjoying views over the gardens and surrounding open countryside. There is an additional bedroom suite on the second floor.

Sited within the grounds a spacious cottage provides two bedrooms, a large reception area (which can also be used as a family entertainment space), with its own kitchen and toilet facilities. Within this building there is also a gymnasium.

The house sits behind a discreet gated frontage and is protected via a state of the art security and CCTV system.
