A charming Cotswold stone townhouse in the heart of Tetbury.

About this property

  • Just moments from the centre of thriving and vibrant Tetbury is this characterful and very lovely townhouse, arranged over two floors with a useful cellar and the benefit of off-street parking. As well as being very central and offering great access to the town's plentiful and very walkable amenities, the house has lovely views to the front over the handsome St Mary the Virgin parish church and to the rear towards Black Horse Hill, the Cutwell Valley and the river meadows that border the Tetbury Avon.

The cottage is built from Cotswold stone and is believed to date back to the 18th century. The layout is deceptively spacious, going back some way behind the front elevations and offering more than 2100 sq ft of space. Internally it is beautifully presented in heritage colours and has a number of character features, including exposed timber beams, sash windows and original fireplaces. On the ground floor there is a good-size dining room and snug/office, a separate sitting room, a shower room and a kitchen with AGA and walk-in pantry. There is also access to the cellar. On the first floor there is a principal bedroom with dressing room/study, a second double bedroom and a family bathroom, with a third good-size double on the second floor.

55 Church Street benefits from an off-street parking space, which is rare for the centre of town. To the rear of the house there is an attractive and mature south west-facing garden stocked with a variety of shrubs. There is a paved terrace for garden furniture and lovely views over the countryside beyond.

I would really appreciate the view from the house and the fact that all the shops and cafes are only a few minutes walk away.
