Charming cottage with beautiful garden, in the heart of Crail

About this property

  • Garden Cottage sits in a peaceful setting, just a short distance from the shops and harbour front, and surrounded by beautifully kept gardens, with lovely views of the sea. The house was built in 2004. It was designed in a traditional style by Jack Fisher Partnership architects in St Andrews, and is of timber frame construction with a characterful stone façade. It has been finished to a high standard with features including oak flooring, Pilkington K Glass glazing, and quality appliances including an AGA.

The principal living accommodation is on the ground floor. The kitchen overlooks the front garden and has a range of fitted painted cabinets with a wooden worktop, a double Belfast sink, four oven AGA, an integrated fridge and plenty of space for a table and chairs. The utility room sits behind and has a fitted Miele fridge and Miele freezer. From the kitchen, a hall runs to the front door. Off the hall is the dining room, as well as the sitting room which has an open fireplace and overlooks the front of the house. There is a ground floor bedroom with two fitted wardrobes, and an adjacent shower room. There are good sized storage cupboards off the hall. The first floor has three further bedrooms, one of which has an en suite shower room. There is also a family bathroom with both a bath and a separate shower.

The door leading to the studio is set under arched stonework, in the style of a traditional cart store. This is an excellent space which the current owners currently use as a studio. It is fitted with counters and a sink, as well as a separate WC. It has heating and a wired phone connection making it also ideal as a home office.

    Outside

Double gates to the front of Garden Cottage, lead into the beautiful front garden. Paths pass through well stocked raised beds and borders, up to stone steps leading up to the front door. There is a generous mono block area in front of the studio, and a flagstone terrace offering ample space for outdoor entertaining. There is a garden shed and a greenhouse, as well as a kitchen garden and small terrace to the rear of the house.

The house has a private parking area for at least two cars. There is a large purpose built store here. A public path leads to a gate to the rear of the house. A separate footpath leads up from Westgate North to the front gates of the house.
