About this property

  • Sunbeam Cottage is a charming Victorian cottage set within the popular Lasswade area of Midlothian.

The property has maintained most of the original features and period character including detailed cornicing and attractive fireplaces. The accommodation is set over two floors, with a good balance of reception spaces and bedrooms, ideal for family living and entertaining.

The principal reception rooms face south and overlook the walled gardens, with a bay-windowed drawing room and separate sitting room, which open into the dining room, and in turn the enclosed patio area. The kitchen overlooks a sunny walled courtyard.

There is a double bedroom with fitted wardrobes and a W.C. on the ground floor. Two further double bedrooms, a single bedroom and family bathroom are on the first floor.

Externally the property benefits from a west-facing courtyard and a fantastic south-facing walled-garden, which is mainly laid to lawn with mature planting and trees offering privacy. There is an attached single garage.

This cottage has bags of character and a fantastic south-facing walled garden, which I absolutely love. It has all the benefits of country living, yet is within striking distance of Edinburgh city centre.
