    • The village has a highly regarded public house, the Heron Inn, a boatyard and a bus service to Truro city centre, just two miles away. There are moorings in the river and the area is favoured by walkers, SUP, kayakers, runners and sailors. Vessels can be launched from the public slipway within 100m of the cottage. In Summer there are popular boat trips at all stages of the tide from Malpas to The National Trust's Trelissick Garden, Falmouth and onto St Mawes.
