About this property

  • Hill Barn Farm was constructed in 2007 by the present owners with a combination of brick and stone elevations under a slate roof and is situated in a wonderful rural location surrounded by its own mature gardens, with open farmland beyond that. The house is situated at the end of a farm track in a private, secluded location with wonderful views and gardens extending to just over four acres. Inside the house has been appointed to a high standard with an English Oak framework being partially exposed in the reception hall where there is a galleried landing giving a wonderful spacious feel to the house as you enter. The reception hall forms the focal point of the house with a large sitting room with stone fireplace and stripped wood floor to one side and a generous family kitchen and breakfast room with Aga on the other side. On the first floor there is a master bedroom with triple aspect outlook and access to a balcony overlooking the gardens, lake and woods beyond. There are three further bedrooms over the next two floors all with en suite bathrooms.

    Please see floor plans.

The gardens at Hill Barn Farm are a major feature and surround the property, beyond which there is glorious open farmland. The house is approached from a private track via a gravelled private drive sweeping around to the front and side of the house where there is ample parking and access to garaging. The main lawn is situated to the side and rear of the house where there is a terrace that wraps around the whole property leading onto a gravel path, beds and borders planted with box and lavender. From this area, steps lead up to a further lawn and curved feature hedge, beyond which the boundary is bordered by farmland. On the south eastern boundary is a large pond, beyond which is a charming copse planted by the owners with a wide range of specimen trees.
