The village, which predominantly lies on the western bank of the river Test, has a population of around 700 residents, who enjoy the pretty village environment, comprising many period houses, a village hall, two public house, a primary school, village store and post office, the cricket club and 13th century church. The village has also purchased the Plough Inn so is now owned by the community and is hugely popular.
