  • Teide House is nestled in a peaceful rural setting within the scenic village of Closeburn.
  • Closeburn has a small general store and a well-stocked small garden centre with more extensive facilities in the towns of Thornhill and Dumfries. Thornhill lies 15 miles north of Dumfries, where the valley of the River Nith broadens between Auldgirth to the south and Carronbridge to the north. There is a good range of shops in Thornhill including two small supermarkets, a butcher, bakery, pharmacy, ironmonger, hairdresser, dentist and GP medical centre. Wallace Hall Academy is a well-regarded secondary school.
  • The M74, which is the main route between England and Scotland, is close to Dumfries and there are railway stations at Dumfries, Sanquhar and Lockerbie.
